Opis stanowiska

Responsibilities:

  • Gathering sub-system predictions of component behaviour for integration into system level predictions using thermodynamic models
  • To develop and maintain a functional understanding of the propulsion system of the propulsion system e.g., compressor stability, combustion stability, controls system requirements and behaviour
  • To define requirements, support, analyse and report on Aero engine performance verification tests
  • To maintain and develop toolsets, models, and data in accordance with the needs of the project and the performance function
  • Delivering defined technical packages and investigations against programme milestones, within agreed cost, timescale, and quality requirements.
  • Being a point of contact in your engineering discipline and sharing subject-matter knowledge with both internal and external customers.
  • Production and in-service engine support.
  • Actively promoting, encouraging, and supporting continuous improvement, in and outside your immediate sphere.

Wymagania

Requirements:

  • Engineering degree (Preferable Master) in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering, or a relevant Science or Applied Mathematics degree.
  • Knowledge or experience (minimum 4 years) of the design, validation, production and/or operation of gas turbine and/or reciprocating engines will be an advantage.
  • Engineering knowledge and experience that is relevant to one or more of the fields of: Thermodynamics, aerodynamics, performance, liquid and air systems, thermals and heat management, cooling, stress, dynamics/vibration, combustion System and component modelling (e.g. computer simulation and finite element analysis) Mechanical design of components, assemblies and systems.
  • Requirements management and ability to apply logical, analytical, and innovative thinking to a range of technical problems. Knowledge and experience of product integrity and liability, and certification frameworks would be an advantage.
  • A good technical background and familiarity with System Engineering and Robust Design principles.
  • Good team working skills and an ability to work as part of a multi-functional team.
  • Ability to plan and execute complex tasks in challenging time frames.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and make recommendations backed up by analysis of data.
  • Ability to exchange complex technical ideas and information in a concise and logical way, over a broad and wide range of topics.
