Opis stanowiska

The role:

The VAT Manager manages the VAT compliance team in Warsaw GBS and reviews the preparation of the VAT reports the department is responsible for. This position exists to provide advice, training, and compliance oversight on VAT returns, Intrastat and Sales/Purchase Listings to the JTI Group of companies in scope.

 

Main areas of responsibility:

 

VAT reporting. To review all VAT, Intrastat and EC listings prepared at Warsaw GBS and analyse transactional postings for legislative compliance and/or errors;

Advisory, Awareness & Training. To provide VAT advice to JTI Group companies and VAT training for JTI internal staff. To assist with the creation and maintenance of user manuals for each VAT registration prepared in Warsaw GBS. Liaison with third party advisors and fiscal representatives to maintain full compliance;

Processes and Controls. Review VAT controls within global SAP system, Ensure Global Quality Management documentation for VAT Compliance is maintained whilst embedding and monitoring the one change management process in the department;

Working relationships. To assist Entity CFOs with compliance-related issues, including audits and routine VAT enquiries. Work closely with the Global Tax team and HQ finance team in Geneva/Amstelveen to ensure any legislation changes or new business flows are implemented correctly;

Documentation. Accountable for creation, maintenance and update of detailed transactional GBS documentation for the processes in scope to ensure Core Services are executed in line with Corporate and market local accounting requirements;

Processes. Actively search out areas for process improvement, identify the gaps in efficiency and effectiveness and recommend the actions. Provide support to continuous improvement projects;

Control and Compliance. Responsible to ensure all JSOX/operational controls are accurately executed and evidenced. Ensure team members understand and are trained on JSOX controls;

Escalate all controls failures and ensure mitigation actions are in place for each failure;

Review controls on a regular basis to ensure that they still provide the level of control that is required by the business and any changes that are required are managed;

Represent the team during both internal and external audits;

Managing Team Development. Plan employees development in line with their skills and career aspirations. Monitor the development progress and make necessary corrections; Support the team in achieving established development goals;

Provide constructive feedback on a regular basis, and encourage subordinates to provide the feedback to the manager;

Organize and control the new employees on-boarding.

 

Wymagania

 

You as a professional:

  • 'University degree (Accounting or Finance);
  • '5 years with government, consultancy and/or private industry experience;
  • European VAT knowledge;
  • Experience of managing direct reports is essential;
  • A professional qualification of ACCA, CPA, etc. is a plus;
  • Big-4 audit experience is a plus;
  • Strong command of English Language (oral and written);
  • 'SAP experience is preferable;
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
