Opis stanowiska

The role:

The Lease Accounting Manager, working for the Global Business Service Centre and reporting into the Centralized Reporting Lead, will lead the centralized lease accounting team and ensure compliance with the IFRS 16 standard for JTI worldwide leases.

 

Main areas of responsibility:

 

Manage the governance process related to lease accounting & related controls. Identify new leases and actively communicate with the local entities and HQ functions to perform the accounting assessment under IFRS 16;

Monitor the current lease population to proactively process any termination/change in leases;

Ensure lease calculations are posted monthly into SAP and payments calculated by the system are properly matched, investigating all differences;

Analysis and Reporting. Using current tools as a base to develop analytics to help the team to achieve their full potential. Develop smart analysis to ensure that all tasks are completed and areas for improvement are identified;

System and Process. Own leasing software system, request the modifications needed for any changes in IFRS/local requirements, drive enhancements;

Documentation.  Accountable for creation, maintenance and update of detailed transactional GBS documentation for the processes in scope to ensure Core Services are executed in line with Corporate and market local accounting requirements;

Processes. Actively search out areas for process improvement, identify the gaps in efficiency and effectiveness and recommend the actions. Provide support to continuous improvement projects;

Control and Compliance. Responsible to ensure all JSOX/operational controls are accurately executed and evidenced.

Escalate all controls failures and ensure mitigation actions are in place for each failure;

Ensure team members understand and are trained on JSOX controls;

Review controls on a regular basis to ensure that they still provide the level of control that is required by the business and any changes that are required are managed;

Represent the team during both internal and external audits;

Managing Team Development. Plan employees development in line with skills and career aspirations. Monitor the development progress and make necessary corrections. Support the team in achieving established development goals;

Provide constructive feedback on a regular basis, and encourage subordinates to provide the feedback to the manager;

Organize and control the new employees on-boarding.

Wymagania

You as a professional:

  • 'University degree (Accounting or Finance);
  • 4 years of experience in an accounting/ finance role; Accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA) preferable;
  • A professional qualification of ACCA, CPA, etc. is a plus;
  • Big-4 audit experience is a plus;
  • Strong command of English Language (oral and written);
  • Knowledge of IFRS and IFRS16 in particular;
  • Proficient Microsoft Excel user;
  • Proficient SAP User.
