As a QA Automation Engineer, you help ensure the quality of our products by defining and implementing test automation. You will design, develop, review and execute test plans and extend the test automation for service applications, including the My Control System (MCS) platform and ABB Ability™ Performance Optimization for control loops (Loop Performance). MCS is a service-orientated product within the process automation area that enables customers to visualize and analyze control system performance, software, security and lifecycle status. The Loop Performance solution identifies, classifies, and prioritizes control loop improvement opportunities using continuous data collection and analytics to transform data into actionable insights.

In this position, you are responsible for testing on different devices, investigating and resolving critical product issues, optimizing processes, and verifying product compliance. As a driver for test automation you will help to ensure the highest quality for ABB customers.

As QA Automation Engineer, you will be a member of an agile team based in Kraków. Our flexible working model promotes work-life balance and offers options to collaborate with your team in person and remotely in hybrid model. You will be working in a cross-functional team that operates in an international environment. Your team is part of a large R&D stream which operates using the Scaled Agile Framework and offers a vast network of technology experts.

Your responsibilities

• Extend existing test automation by adding integration tests for full end-to-end tests. Use .NET testing libraries in combination with other frameworks (Postman, Cypress, Playwright).
• Evaluate and select test automation tools together with other QA automation experts to align testing methods across teams
• Closely collaborate with software testers and developers
• Create, review, and implement test automation plans
• Perform manual tests during development to figure out how they can be automated. Initially the ratio between manual and automated tests will be 50:50. You are responsible to help drive reduction of manual test effort
• Help developers improve software testability
• Propose improvements to test techniques based on experience and knowledge of trends and equipment

• Experience in testing and test automation, working in an agile team
• Strong web testing background including experience with web application frontend testing, API testing, security testing, and performance testing
• Experience in software test planning, test execution, defect management via software work tracking tools (Azure DevOps or TFS is preferred)
• Sound knowledge of setting up test frameworks and their integration into automated pipelines
• Proficient with test automation tools and frameworks: Postman, Selenium, NUnit, FluentAssertion, Playwright, and Cypress
• Languages: C#, JavaScript/TypeScript
• A quality-oriented, collaborative, solution-focused approach with strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes preferred
