Benefit Street Partners ("BSP") is a leading credit-focused alternative asset management firm with approximately $77 billion in assets under management. Established in 2008, the BSP platform manages funds for institutions, high-net-worth and retail investors across various strategies including: private/opportunistic debt, liquid loans, high yield, special situations, long-short liquid credit and commercial real estate debt. BSP’s operational headquarters are located in Boston, MA and support the investment team located in New York, NY.

Benefit Street Partners is seeking to hire an intelligent and highly motivated individual to join the Portfolio Analytics Team.  The Portfolio Analytics Team provides mission critical support to Business Development, Investor Relations, and the Investment Team.  This role will focus primarily on data analytics and performance reporting for all investments under management, but specifically for the Private Debt platform.  The ideal candidate will have a mix of finance/accounting and technology experience, with strong analytical and communication skills. This individual will collaborate with colleagues across the front, middle and back office.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of the BSP Portfolio Analytics Analyst?

  • Assist in the creation of essential firmwide internal/external performance reporting
  • Partner with Business Development, Investor Relations, Franklin Templeton, Legal, Valuation, Operations, Finance and Data Management teams to ensure the breadth, depth and accuracy of data and reporting
  • Facilitate cross communication and collaboration amongst the aforementioned teams
  • Maintain the integrity of internal processes and databases used to track key performance and investment metrics
  • Support Business Development through the preparation of analytical statistics required for presentations and investor requests
  • Support Investor Relations through the aggregation and manipulation of data in response to investor questionnaires and fund performance queries
  • Help capture, maintain, and clean underlying financial data and statistics of BSP’s borrowers
  • Constantly evaluate systems, process and procedures for inefficiencies and make recommendations for improvement
  • Ongoing maintenance of power bi dashboards for data capture and reconciliation

Wymagania

  • 3+ years of experience within financial services
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or comparable
  • Motivated, self-starter with strong analytical skills, and an ability to grasp new concepts quickly
  • Experience working with financial instruments (including but not limited to bank debt, bonds, loans, equity, and derivatives) preferably in a hedge fund or private equity/debt environment
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required, PowerPoint skills are a plus
  • Strong appreciation for technology/business systems and their application in the workplace
  • Familiarity and experience with financial statements and financial metrics is a plus
  • Experience creating and maintaining Power BI/Tableau dashboards a plus, but not required
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, ever changing, and results driven environment
  • Team player with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels within the Firm
  • Detail oriented, diligent, thorough, and curious
