Opis stanowiska

In the Marine Software Development Center (MSDC) in Krakow, we are actively maintaining and further building the portfolio of navigation, watch-keeping, assistive and autonomous shipping functions that are executed from the ship’s bridge.

ABB Marine Pilot product line consists of embedded functionality for vessel control during all the operational modes including maneuvering, transit and position-keeping. System is designed for the autonomous and remote operation from more than one operator position and currently expanding functionality.

You will be configuring new build and test pipelines, as well as maintain existing ones. You will be supporting software development teams in their DevOps needs. You will work in an international environment consisting of colleagues in Oslo and Helsinki, with English as the everyday language of business and technical communication.

 

Your responsibilities

  • As part of the DevOps team, you will be at the heart of our infrastructure, and interact on a daily basis with our software development teams;
  • You will develop and enhance our CI pipelines, raising the automation and standardization of our development processes to the next level;
  • Bring on board openness to learn and remain eager to ingest and propose good development and quality practices;
  • Working in an international, multi-cultural team, with knowledge of marine business and a drive to quickly deliver solution for some of the world’s largest and most complex green ships;
  • Maintaining build machines Virtual Machines - both Linux and Windows.
  • Example tasks: add automatic check for code formatting during build pipeline; enable static code analysis; improve duration of our pipeline.

Wymagania

Your background

  • Current student of Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar field – must be currently enrolled;
  • As this is a very junior position, any of the following is a big plus: experience with CI/CD concepts and tools Azure DevOps pipelines (or similar); basic knowledge of bash, powershell or other scripting languages; experience using GIT; experience with C++ build systems (Cmake etc.); experience managing Linux and/or Windows virtual machines.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
